Beginner Classes
What is the difference between the levels of Beginner Classes at Girl Guitar? Great question! Everyone learns at a different pace and it's important to find the spot that's right for you. There is plenty of overlap between these classes, but here are a few specifics to help you out:
Total Beginner: This class will cover how to tune, hold a pick, hold the guitar, and play 3-4 basic chords.
Beginner II: This class assumes you have some familiarity with G, C, D, A, E, am, and em and are comfortable holding a pick. You will dig deeper into strum patterns and songs with more chords than in Total Beginner. Beginner II is a great place to spend as many sessions as you need in order to log hours getting the basics under your belt!
Beginner III: This class will focus on ways to enhance basic chords and strum patterns and will gently introduce barre chords.

Beginner II Tuesdays 8:15pm - Girl Guitar
This is a six-week class that meets at Girl Guitar on Tuesdays from 8:15-9:15pm CT from May 7 - June 25 (skipping May 21 and June 18), with a Showcase on Sunday, June 30 at Lustre Pearl South. This class is taught by Juliette Buck and is for women 21+.
Girl Guitar is located at 2309 Thornton Rd. Studio C.
Cost for six weeks plus Showcase: $220
Total Beginner Wednesdays 6:30pm - Collier House
This is a six-week class that meets at Girl Guitar's Collier House on Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30pm CT from May 1 - June 12 (skipping May 29). This class is taught by Katie Marie and is for women 18+.

Girl Guitar's Collier House is located at 1401 Collier St. Apt A.

Total Beginner Mondays 7pm - Girl Guitar
This is a six-week class that meets at Girl Guitar on Mondays from 7-8pm CT from May 6 - June 17 (skipping May 27) with a Showcase on Sunday, June 30 at Antone's. This class is taught by Mandy Rowden and is for women 21+.
Girl Guitar is located at 2309 Thornton Rd. Studio C.
Cost for six weeks plus Showcase: $220
Beginner II Tuesdays 5:45pm - ZOOM
This is a six-week class that meets via Zoom on Tuesdays from 5:45-6:45pm CT from May 7 - June 11. This class is taught by Mandy Rowden and is for women 21+.

Theory and Ear Training Thursdays 5:45pm - Girl Guitar
Want to boost your theory and ear training skills? This class will teach you the building blocks of music theory and how to apply them to your musical projects, whether you are a singer (lead or harmony), instrumentalist, or a songwriter. Even music appreciators could have fun learning the ins-and-outs of how music works.
Ear Training will help you sing in tune, sing in harmony, keep a steady beat, know which beat you are on, know what chords might be used in a song, how to sing intervals and chords inversions, and much more. This might be the most fun you’ve ever had learning music theory!
This is a six-week class that meets at Girl Guitar on Thursdays from 5:45-6:45pm CT from May 9 - June 27 (skipping May 30 and June 6). This class is taught by Larisa Montanaro and is for women 21+.
Girl Guitar is located at 2309 Thornton Rd. Studio C.
